Mist for "Fog assembly" by Olafur Eliasson Versailles 2016

Olafur Eliasson Versailles 2016

ADUNIC

June 07 - October 30, 2016

The latest project of the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson
was opened in Versailles on June 7, 2016 with great media attention.

In addition to 6 installations inside the Palace of Versailles,
3 temporary works on the theme "water "can be visited in the
garden of Versailles.

The most obvious water installation there is the 42m high Waterfall
which is right in the Grand Canal. For that installation the as systems GmbH
was asked to make the feasibility study and preliminary design.

Olafurs "Fog assembly", however, shows the appearance of water as fog,
an enchanted misty ring in the Bosquet de l'Etoile, one of the many gardens,
where visitors are encouraged to "to lose yourself."

The as systems GmbH planned and installed on behalf of ADUNIC the
required haze technology.
This system consists of annularly arranged and 4.5m high metal stealing,
which form a ring with a diameter of almost 30m.
With the use of a pump system and countless nozzles it creates artificial
fog clouds out of water in the natural environment of the gardens.
